Splash: my vision of AI for scuba diving

I have always believed in technology as a tool to enhance the world of scuba diving. Today, I can finally introduce Splash, the first virtual assistant dedicated to divers, developed by Zero Pixel in collaboration with LogXY. This is not just another chatbot, but a specialized AI Agent designed to guide enthusiasts on their adventures, provide precise answers, and connect users with industry operators to organize diving trips and experiences.

Splash is available for free on ScubaPortal.it and will be officially presented at the 30th edition of Eudi Show, the most important event in the diving world, taking place at BolognaFiere from February 21 to 23, 2025.

How Splash was born

The idea for Splash came from my experience in the field and my observations of divers’ needs. I have always used artificial intelligence in marketing projects, but I often noticed that existing tools made errors or provided inconsistent answers. I wanted to create something different, something that would genuinely serve divers and improve their digital experience.

Thanks to the collaboration with Rudy Crapella and Alessandro Lazzaro from LogXY, Splash became a reality. It is based on ScubaPortal that I created in 2003 and is now one of the largest digital libraries in the industry, featuring over 20 years of exclusive content, 5,000 specialized articles, more than 500 mapped dive sites in Italy, and over 1 million messages posted in the community. This allows Splash to provide targeted, reliable, and contextually relevant responses, avoiding the pitfalls of generic or inaccurate information.
